Adult universities in Italy launch 2026/2027 academic year

Two Italian municipalities are launching new academic programs for the 2026/2027 year through their respective free universities.

In Bastia Umbra, the Università Libera has commenced its first courses as of October 20, 2026. The initial curriculum focuses on physical well-being and language acquisition, including group dancing, Pilates, Nordic walking, and basic English. Future offerings are expected to expand into artistic, scientific, and theatrical disciplines.

In Senigallia, the Libera Università per gli Adulti di Senigallia (LUAS) is inaugurating its academic year with ten courses and approximately 50 meetings scheduled through April. The program includes topics such as European Union law and English. The institution is also undergoing a period of renewal ahead of its 40th anniversary in 2028, which includes a new logo and discussions regarding a potential name change to 'Libera Università dei Saperi' to reflect a broader audience. Additionally, a fossil exhibition titled ‘Le meraviglie fossili delle antiche Gessaie di Senigallia’ will be hosted at Palazzo del Duca until January 2027.
