Advans Ghana launches Mmaa Mpuntuo financing for women entrepreneurs

Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Limited has launched Mmaa Mpuntuo, a dedicated financing solution aimed at helping women entrepreneurs scale their businesses. The initiative is being piloted with an initial GH¢20 million commitment from Development Bank Ghana (DBG).

Developed as part of the Advans Her gender programme, the product was designed with technical support from CapitalPlus Exchange (CapPlus) following research into the specific barriers women face when seeking finance. While women constitute 61 percent of Advans Ghana’s client base, they have historically been concentrated among the company’s smallest borrowers.

The Mmaa Mpuntuo product offers several features tailored to women's needs, including lower interest rates and processing fees compared to standard loans, more flexible collateral requirements, and faster processing times. Additionally, the program provides mentoring, business and marketing support, and automatic enrollment in EduSave, a savings and investment account designed to assist with family education planning.
