Advans Ghana women entrepreneurship financing
Overview
Advans Ghana has reported significant growth, doubling its client base to nearly 160,000 customers over five years. As of June 2026, the institution saw a 31% year-on-year increase in its loan book and a 68% rise in half-year net profit.
To address the needs of its female clientele, who represent approximately 60% of its active customers, the institution launched ‘Mmaa Mpuntuo’ (meaning ‘women’s progress’ in Twi). This initiative is a dedicated financing solution supported by an initial GH¢20 million commitment from Development Bank Ghana.
The program, developed through the Advans Her gender programme with technical support from CapitalPlus Exchange, aims to help women-led small and micro-businesses scale. It offers features such as lower interest rates, reduced processing fees, more flexible collateral requirements, and faster processing times. Beyond capital, the initiative provides business coaching, mentorship, and automatic enrollment in EduSave, a savings account for family education planning.
