Adıyaman and Didim municipalities step up summer pest‑control spraying

The municipality of Adıyaman in southeastern Turkey has intensified its pest‑control programme during the hot summer months. Using ultra‑low volume (ULV) equipment, teams work nightly in all 33 neighbourhoods, deploying seven vehicles and seven staff members to spray for wasps, mosquitoes and black flies. Spraying is repeated every two days, focusing on breeding sites such as water channels, construction basements and irrigation pools. Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere said the aim is to keep the city’s residents healthy and comfortable throughout the season.

Similarly, the Didim municipal authority on the Aegean coast continues regular pesticide applications in sewers, green spaces and waste containers to curb flies and other insects. The scheduled programme targets common public areas to maintain a hygienic environment, with Mayor Hatice Gençay stressing the city’s commitment to preserving residents’ quality of life.
