AEMPS recalls four natural products containing undeclared sildenafil
The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has ordered the immediate market withdrawal and cessation of sales for four products marketed as natural supplements after discovering undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients. The products identified are Etumax Royal Honey, Miel Soudan VIP, Epimedyumlu Macum, and Organic Honey.
Laboratory analysis confirmed that these products contain sildenafil in quantities sufficient to exert pharmacological action, which legally classifies them as medicines rather than natural supplements. Additionally, Etumax Royal Honey was found to contain tadalafil, and Organic Honey contained paracetamol. The presence of these substances was not disclosed on the labeling.
The AEMPS issued this warning following an alert from the Civil Guard Command of Toledo. Health authorities warn that consuming these products poses serious risks, particularly for individuals with cardiovascular conditions such as myocardial infarction, unstable angina, heart failure, or uncontrolled hypertension, due to potential adverse interactions with other medications.
