Aena anticipates record results amid rising air traffic
Aena, the operator of nearly all Spanish airports including Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat, is projected to achieve record financial results. Investment bank Renta 4, alongside AlphaValue and Intermoney, maintains a positive outlook ahead of the company’s results presentation scheduled for October 28.
Growth is being driven by several factors: Spanish air traffic increased by over 4% in the third quarter, improvements in regulated tariff settings, and rising passenger consumption. Additionally, traffic at Luton airport rose by 6.2%, while Brazilian airport traffic grew by 3.5%.
Analysts expect improved operating cash flow to offset dividend payments and recent investments, such as the 340 million euro acquisition of British airports. This is expected to maintain stable net debt levels and improve the group’s leverage. Aena remains a dominant player in the global aviation sector, managing 46 airports in Spain and benefiting from Spain’s status as a leading international tourist destination.
