AEON Group accelerates retail expansion in Vietnam
AEON Group is significantly accelerating its retail expansion in Vietnam, designating the country as a priority market within its 2026-2030 Medium-Term Management Plan. The group intends to allocate approximately 60 per cent of its total ASEAN investment capital to Vietnam, aiming to triple its business scale and establish a nationwide network of 300 stores by 2030.
As part of this strategy, AEON plans to open four new shopping centres in 2026, marking its fastest expansion pace in the country. The company is moving beyond major hubs like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to target emerging urban areas and provinces, capitalizing on Vietnam's rapid urbanization and growing middle class. Since entering the market in 2014, AEON has diversified into various formats, including general merchandise stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and specialty services.
