AEON Mall opens first Da Nang shopping centre, creating 1,700 jobs
AEON Mall Vietnam launched its first Da Nang location, AEON Mall Da Nang Thanh Khê, on 3 July 2026. The centre, the company’s eighth mall in Vietnam, occupies about 30,000 m² of floor space with more than 21,000 m² available for lease. It houses roughly 60 retailers, around half of which are new to the Da Nang market, covering grocery, fashion, electronics, furniture and dining.
The project is expected to generate approximately 1,700 jobs and is promoted as a milestone for local economic development and Vietnam‑Japan cooperation. Officials highlighted the mall’s sustainable design, including LED lighting, energy‑management systems, digital way‑finding and smart lockers, as well as accessibility features for the elderly and families. Traffic congestion around the site has been reported, prompting the mall’s management to work with city authorities on traffic‑flow measures.
AEON Mall plans further expansion in Da Nang, with a larger centre under construction in the Hòa Xuân district, signalling continued growth of the Japanese retailer in central Vietnam.
