Aeroporto Nicelli celebrates centenary with exhibition and event

Aeroporto Nicelli in Venice is celebrating its centenary with a special exhibition titled “Cent’anni di aviazione. Aeroporto Nicelli 1926–2026”. Located on the Lido, the exhibition uses twelve panels designed like cinematic frames to recount a century of aviation history, including the airport's role in war, tourism, and international connections. The display is free to the public until September 30.

In conjunction with the Venice International Film Festival, Vanity Fair Italia and Junkers Aircraft hosted “The Fly Experience” at the airport. The event featured two Junkers A50 Heritage aircraft—the St. Moritz Edition and the Venezia Edition—within the hangar. The Venezia Edition pays homage to the first Italian civil aviation passenger connections that departed from Nicelli in 1926 using Junkers aircraft.
