AEVO study: only 29% of Brazilian firms profit from innovation
The AEVO‑developed “Mapa da Inovação 2026” reports that while 92% of Brazilian companies launched new products, services or processes between 2024 and 2025, only 29% were able to demonstrate concrete financial gains. AEVO CEO Alex Ribeiro Jr. says firms now must link innovation to measurable economic‑financial metrics or risk budget cuts.
To address the gap, AEVO launched GenAI Apps, a generative‑AI platform funded with R$9.5 million from the FINEP Mais Inovação programme. The suite includes specialised copilots that evaluate eligibility for the Lei do Bem tax incentive, identify PD&I and FINEP funding opportunities, and estimate quantitative and qualitative project gains. In a beta test with Grupo Aço Cearense, the Lei do Bem copilot achieved 85% technical classification accuracy on 33 projects and reduced manual triage interviews by 42%, illustrating the tool’s potential to streamline innovation financing and improve profitability reporting.
