AEW to honor The Butcher following his passing

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) reportedly plans to honor Andy Williams, known professionally as ‘The Butcher’, by permanently maintaining his profile on the company’s official roster page. This tribute follows a precedent set by the company for the late Brodie Lee.

Williams passed away on September 5 at the age of 48 after collapsing following a match at an Enjoy Wrestling event in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Emergency responders were called to the scene, and despite attempts at resuscitation during transport to Allegheny General Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

AEW President Tony Khan revealed that Williams had expressed interest in developing collaborations between professional wrestling and the music community to expand the promotion's reach. While these ideas were still in the discussion phase, Khan noted his appreciation for Williams' vision.
