AFA Tribunal suspends players after Supercopa Internacional incidents
The AFA Disciplinary Tribunal has issued provisional suspensions for players Fabricio Iacovich of Estudiantes de La Plata and Gonzalo Agustín Sández of Rosario Central following incidents during the Supercopa Internacional final. The match, held on September 26 in Santiago del Estero, ended in a 3-1 victory for Rosario Central but was marked by tension and physical altercations.
In addition to the player suspensions, the Tribunal has requested a formal report from the Professional Football League delegate regarding reported incidents in the locker rooms mentioned by referee Darío Herrera. Both clubs have been granted five days to review the proceedings and submit their written defenses. While the referee's report included allegations regarding Estudiantes President Juan Sebastián Verón, the Tribunal's current resolution does not explicitly address those specific claims, which AFA sources suggest will be addressed at a later date.
