AFAME to present book highlighting Spinal Muscular Atrophy in Paraguay

The Association of Families with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (AFAME) will present the storybook ‘El mundo de Sofía’ on Friday, August 28, in Asunción, Paraguay. The book aims to raise social awareness regarding the experiences and challenges faced by patients living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and their families.

The launch event will take place at 18:00 at the Paseo La Galería Convention Center. The program includes contributions from AFAME representatives, patients, and family members. Additionally, neuropediatrician and neurophysiatrist Marco Casartelli will provide medical insights into SMA, emphasizing the importance of early detection, specialized evaluation, and timely medical follow-up to improve quality of life through modern scientific advancements.
