Afghanistan conducts airstrikes against ISIS sites in Pakistan

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence announced that its Air Force carried out overnight strikes on alleged ISIS hideouts in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. The operation targeted sites in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah District, the Shakar Ab Jungle Gardi area of Chagai District, and the Qamber Khel area of Orakzai Agency, which the ministry said were used to plan and coordinate attacks on Afghanistan.

The ministry posted on X that “all pre‑designated high‑value targets were successfully struck” and warned that Afghanistan “will not tolerate any threat against its security and stability”. The strikes come amid heightened tensions after Pakistan’s recent airstrike on Afghan homes that killed civilians, leading Kabul to summon Pakistan’s charge d’affaires and lodge a protest.
