Afghanistan pursues economic ties with Belarus and Uzbekistan

The Taliban government is actively pursuing economic and trade cooperation with various nations. Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Minister Ataullah Omari is leading a 13-member delegation to Belarus for the second meeting of a joint commission. The talks aim to strengthen bilateral ties and identify new areas for economic cooperation.

Simultaneously, Afghan Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshed Khojaev in Termez. The discussions focused on expanding joint investments and cooperation in the electricity, mining, and agriculture sectors.

Amidst these diplomatic efforts, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed has urged the international community to continue supporting Afghan women and girls, noting that they must not be abandoned despite ongoing restrictions on their rights. In response, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated the government remains committed to ensuring women’s rights within the framework of Sharia.
