AFIR launches 170 million euro funding for young farmers
The Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) has launched a funding program totaling approximately 170 million euros aimed at young farmers. The DR-12 intervention is designed to help farmers up to the age of 45 consolidate their agricultural holdings. The budget is divided equally, with 84.795 million euros allocated to the zootechnical sector and 84.795 million euros for other sectors, including plant production. Individual projects may receive up to 200,000 euros in financing.
Separately, the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) is set to begin authorizing the first installment of advances for farmers in the plant and zootechnical sectors starting October 16. Under these schemes, eligible farmers can receive an advance of up to 75% of their annual subsidy amount. Calculated amounts for various schemes range between 219.18 and 399.99 lei per hectare.
