The AFL has announced the invitee lists for the 2026 Telstra AFL and AFLW Draft Combines. For the national AFL Draft Combine, 63 players have been invited, including 38 from Victoria. The national AFLW Draft Combine will feature 46 players, with 20 from Victoria.

National events are scheduled to take place in Melbourne from September 29 to October 3, 2026. The program includes club interviews at the MCG and physical testing at the State Netball & Hockey Centre, featuring assessments such as 20-metre sprints, agility tests, and time trials. Notably, the AFLW time trial distance will change to 1.6km to better reflect match running patterns, while the AFL distance remains at 2km.

In player news, Abby Favell has signed with the North Melbourne Kangaroos AFLW squad. After playing three seasons for the Geelong Cats' VFL side, the Riverina native transitioned from regional New South Wales to the reigning premiership team.
