African art biennials and weeks announced for 2026 in Senegal and Benin
The 16th Dak'Art Biennale, a major contemporary African art event, is confirmed to take place in Senegal from November 19 to December 19, 2026. Under the theme “(Anti)fragility: Arts of Repair and Counter-strike Strategies,” the exhibition will be directed by Morad Montazami. The international selection includes 75 artists and designers, featuring 11 Senegalese artists and representatives from France, Cape Verde, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which serves as the guest of honor.
In Benin, the Cotonou Art Week will be held from November 12 to 19, 2026. Little Africa has partnered with the Cotonou Art Tour, organized by Cotonou Art Lab, to offer an immersive cultural experience. The program will guide professionals, collectors, and travelers through the creative ecosystems of Cotonou, Ouidah, Grand-Popo, and Porto-Novo, featuring artist studio visits, exhibitions, and discussions on design, architecture, and heritage.
