African Development Bank and UK Export Finance sign partnership

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and UK Export Finance (UKEF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation on co-financing projects across Africa. The agreement, signed in Conakry, Guinea, during the fifth UK–West and Central Francophone Africa Trade and Investment Forum, establishes a structured framework for the two institutions to identify and develop both sovereign and non-sovereign operations.

The partnership aims to mobilize additional capital for the continent’s sustainable development by combining development finance with export credit. Priority sectors for these strategic investments include energy, infrastructure, water and sanitation, healthcare, digital infrastructure, critical minerals, agriculture, trade finance, and supply-chain resilience.
