African giant snails as unique exotic pets

The African giant snail is highlighted as a unique exotic pet that can be kept in a domestic setting, such as an apartment in Cluj-Napoca. Unlike traditional pets like dogs or cats, these mollusks move slowly and carry their shells, which they grow using calcium and vegetables.

Originally encountered in Kenya, these snails can reach significant sizes, with shells exceeding ten centimeters. Keeping them requires creating a small tropical environment and researching specific species and local regulations before acquisition.
