African nations gear up for 2026 national school examinations

Beninese President Romuald Wadagnia addressed candidates for the 2025‑2026 school exams, urging them to approach each test with confidence, serenity and determination. He extended his message to teachers and parents and highlighted the exam calendar, which runs from early June to mid‑July for primary, BEPC and Baccalauréat exams, with university licence and master sessions slated for September‑November 2026.

The jury president for the 2026 Baccalauréat, Doumpa Mian‑Asmbaye, reported that 106,231 candidates (56.95% male, 43.5% female and 5.55% foreign) will sit the exams across 160 centres, including 31 in N’Djamena (Chad) and one in Djeddah, Saudi Arabia. He called for strict compliance with exam regulations, a ban on mobile phones, and cooperation from security forces, administrators and parents to ensure a smooth examination process.
