African U-20 women's teams prepare for World Cup in Poland

African national teams are intensifying preparations in Poland for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Nigeria’s Falconets have faced a significant setback after captain Joy Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab were unable to secure entry visas for the tournament. They have been replaced in the squad by Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi. The Falconets, led by coach Moses Aduku, have begun training in Trzebnica and are scheduled to play friendly matches against Poland and South Korea to prepare for their Group F campaign against Spain, China PR, and New Caledonia.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Princesses are also training in Poland. The squad has recently integrated striker Esther Owusu following her arrival in the camp. Ghana is managing several injuries, including the loss of captain Linda Owusu Ansah due to an ACL tear. The Black Princesses are preparing for their Group C opening match against Ecuador on September 6, following a warm-up victory against Ślęza Wrocław and an upcoming friendly against Mexico.
