Afro Plus Fest expands to three-day event in Maryland

Afro Plus Fest, described as the world’s largest celebration of global Black music and culture, is expanding to a three-day event held at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland, for Labor Day Weekend. The festival features a diverse lineup of performers across genres such as Afrobeats, soca, dancehall reggae, R&B, amapiano, and Hip-Hop, including artists like Tems, Ayra Starr, Davido, Wizkid, and Latto.

In addition to musical performances, the event includes over 100 brand activations and 125 food vendors. Maryland Governor Wes Moore expressed support for the festival, noting its importance as a cultural homecoming for African communities and its role in Maryland’s broader strategy to establish the state as a premier entertainment and economic destination.
