AG. AL wins 2026 Esports World Cup club championship

The Chinese esports organization AG. AL has won the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC) club championship, marking the first time a Chinese team has secured the top overall title in the tournament's history. Held at the Grand Palais in Paris, France, the competition concluded on August 23 with AG. AL finishing with a total of 5,300 points, surpassing the defending champions, Team Falcons of Saudi Arabia, who ended with 4,600 points.

The victory was secured during the final stages of the Trackmania competition, where French player Gwen achieved a decisive comeback victory to provide the necessary points for the club. In addition to Trackmania, AG. AL secured championships in Tekken 8 and earned runner-up positions in Chess and Honor of Kings.

The event was attended by high-profile figures, including French President Emmanuel Macron, who presented the trophy, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. While the tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it was moved to Paris due to regional tensions affecting travel and security. Organizers stated that Riyadh remains the core host city and expects the event to return there in 2027.
