Agbara Nla: The Return breaks Nigerian box office records

The faith-based film ‘Agbara Nla: The Return’ has grossed ₦408.3 million at the Nigerian box office, becoming the highest-earning faith-based movie in the history of Nigerian cinema. Distributed by Nile Entertainment, the film has held the number-one spot for four consecutive weeks since its release on October 1, 2026.

Directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, the film is a remake of the 1993 classic originally produced by Mount Zion Film Productions. The new production was a collaborative effort between Mount Zion, Sozo Films, and Circuits, utilizing modern production standards to update the original spiritual themes for a contemporary audience.

The film has also achieved international success, earning $120,660 during its opening weekend in selected theaters across the United Kingdom and Canada.
