Medical incidents reported in Greece and the Czech Republic

Several distinct medical incidents have been reported in Greece and the Czech Republic.

In Athens, a 12-year-old Greek-American girl from New York underwent a successful 6.5-hour surgery at Agia Sophia Children's Hospital to remove a large benign tumor (teratoma) discovered during her summer vacation in Kefalonia. The tumor had occupied nearly her entire left hemithorax. Her parents, who had previously sought pediatric care in the US, expressed surprise that the mass had not been detected earlier despite prior examinations.

In Prague, a 24-year-old woman suffered second and third-degree burns during a Cesarean section at Bulovka University Hospital. The fire was triggered when an antiseptic liquid came into contact with an electrosurgical tool while doctors were attempting to stop a hemorrhage. The newborn was uninjured, and the mother's condition is reported as stable.

Separately, in Tourlida, Messolonghi, two women were treated at the local hospital after sustaining injuries in the sea. One woman reported being bitten by what she believed to be a mullet, while the second reported a bite from a sea turtle. Both women were treated and discharged without needing hospitalization.
