Medical incidents in Greece and the Czech Republic

Overview

Medical incidents involving surgical procedures and injuries have been reported in Greece and the Czech Republic.

In Athens, a 12-year-old girl underwent a successful 6.5-hour surgery at Agia Sophia Children's Hospital to remove a large benign tumor. Her parents noted that the mass had not been detected during previous examinations in the United States.

In Prague, a 24-year-old woman sustained second and third-degree burns during a Cesarean section at Bulovka University Hospital after antiseptic liquid ignited upon contact with an electrosurgical tool. The mother is reported to be in stable condition, and the newborn was uninjured.

Additionally, in Tourlida, Messolonghi, two women received treatment for injuries sustained in the sea, involving reported bites from a mullet and a sea turtle, respectively. Both were discharged following treatment.
