Agility Robotics unveils Digit 5 humanoid robot with rapid charging

Agility Robotics has introduced Digit 5, a new generation of humanoid robot designed for warehouses, logistics centers, and industrial facilities. The robot utilizes innovative battery technology from Nyobolt to significantly reduce downtime.

Digit 5 features an ultra-fast charging capability, providing 90 minutes of continuous operation after only 9 minutes of charging. This achieves a 10:1 work-to-charge ratio, a fivefold improvement over the previous Digit 4 model, which had a 2:1 ratio. The company anticipates the robot will be capable of performing useful tasks for over 20 hours within a single day, potentially covering more than two standard work shifts.

The integration of Nyobolt’s high-power battery technology aims to make humanoid robotics more economically viable for the commercial sector by minimizing energy recovery time. Initial customers are expected to receive access to the upgraded robots in the first half of 2027.
