Agios Nikolaos, Crete, is set to host the 'Agios Nikolaos on SUP 2026 – Paddle Europe SUP Championships & SUP World Cup' from September 18 to 23, 2026. The international sporting event is expected to attract over 200 athletes representing more than 20 countries.

The competition is organized by the Hellenic Canoe-Kayak, Stand Up Paddleboarding and Surfing Federation in collaboration with the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, DAEEAN, and the Nautical Athletic Club of Agios Nikolaos (NASAN). It also involves international bodies Paddle Europe and Paddle Worldwide, with support from the Region of Crete.

The event operates under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the Greek Tourism Organization (EOT), and the General Secretariat of Sports. This year's edition will expand its scope to include the Vrachasi Municipal Unit as part of a strategy to decentralize major sporting activities within the municipality.
