Agios Nikolaos to host Cliff Diving 2026 competition

Agios Nikolaos is set to host the Cliff Diving 2026 competition on September 19 and 20 at Lake Voulismeni. This marks the eighth consecutive year the city has hosted the event, which has become a significant fixture for Crete and Greece.

Seventeen international athletes from Europe and the Americas will participate, performing dives from cliffs approximately 20 meters high. The male competitors include athletes from Germany, Switzerland, the USA, and Canada, while the female competitors include athletes from Denmark, France, the USA, Germany, Spain, Canada, and Ukraine.

The event is an initiative of the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos aimed at promoting the region as an international destination for sports tourism. The competition is held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization and will include cultural activities and musical performances.
