Aglientu Pine Forest Fire in Sardinia Remains Under Control

On July 18 2026, forest service teams continued operations in the coastal area of Aglientu, Sardinia, after a blaze that burned roughly 30 hectares of pine and Mediterranean scrub in the Monti Russu and Littaroni regions. The fire began four days earlier and caused significant vegetation damage.

Crews from the Corpo Forestale, fire brigade, volunteers, and police have been fighting the fire on the ground and with aerial water drops from a dedicated helicopter. Small re‑ignitions have been spotted and promptly extinguished. The zone is being monitored continuously for at least a week to prevent further flare‑ups.
