Agribank launches 15,000 billion dong bond sale and secures 29.7 trillion dong capital boost
Agricultural Bank of Vietnam (Agribank) opened a public bond offering of 15 trillion VND, available to domestic and foreign investors from 10 July to 31 July 2026. The bonds have a 10‑year term, a minimum purchase of 100 000 VND and a floating interest rate calculated as the average one‑year savings rate of four major banks plus a 2.0 % margin for the first five years and 2.5 % thereafter. After the subscription period, the bonds will be registered with the Vietnam Securities Depository for secondary market trading.
On 6 July 2026 the Vietnamese government approved a capital increase for Agribank under Decision 1206/QD‑TTg, adding 29.690 trillion VND to the bank’s charter capital. The plan allocates 9.525 trillion VND in 2026 and 20.165 trillion VND in 2027, raising total charter capital from 51.638 trillion to 81.328 trillion VND. Agribank’s total assets exceed 2.7 million trillion VND, with loan portfolios surpassing 2 million trillion VND, of which more than 1.32 million trillion VND (64.9 %) supports agriculture, farmers and rural development. Both measures aim to strengthen the bank’s capital base, support the “Tam nông” policy and sustain macro‑economic stability.
