Agricultural commodity prices rise in Serbia amid shrinking supply

Agricultural commodity prices at the Novi Sad Product Exchange saw an upward trend between September 7 and September 11 due to declining supply across primary products. Corn prices rose by 4.72 percent, with weighted prices reaching 20.40 dinars per kilogram excluding VAT.

Wheat prices increased by 1.52 percent, with contracts for wheat containing at least 11.5 percent protein settling at 20.50 dinars per kilogram excluding VAT. While demand for wheat varied based on quality, seller activity remained extremely low.

Other commodities, including soy, sunflower, and feed barley, experienced a lack of trading activity. Despite buyer interest, a gap between buyer offers and seller expectations prevented concluded deals. For soy, purchase prices rose from 56.50 to 58 dinars per kilogram excluding VAT, but no contracts were signed due to insufficient supply.
