Academic institutions in Paraguay and Argentina launch new agricultural initiatives

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Asunción (FCA-UNA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Sustainability at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Taiwan. This agreement aims to foster academic cooperation in areas including sustainable production, ecosystem conservation and restoration, climate resilience, and entrepreneurship education.

The partnership, supported by the Paraguayan Chamber of Carbon Credit Development and Trade (Capadeco), focuses on talent training and innovation to align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The collaboration will include academic exchanges, joint training activities, and research into agriculture and forestry.

In Argentina, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Lomas de Zamora (FCA-UNLZ), in conjunction with the Argentine Union of Rural Workers and Stevedores (UATRE), has announced a University Diploma in Industrial Hemp Development. Starting in September 2026, the hybrid program will cover the entire value chain, including cultivation, harvesting, industrialization, and the legal and economic frameworks of the industry.
