Agricultural markets face regional price shifts and low crop yields
Agricultural markets in Serbia and Slovenia are experiencing significant fluctuations and challenges. In Serbia, livestock purchase prices vary widely by region. In the Mačva region, calf prices remain high at 1,000 dinars per kilogram, while in Banat, beef cattle prices have dropped to between 410 and 430 dinars per kilogram. In the Podrinje region, piglet prices rose to 370 dinars per kilogram, whereas prices fell in South Bačka.
In Slovenia, corn harvests are facing record low yields due to extreme weather conditions. While some areas report yields up to 12 tons per hectare, drought-stricken regions like the second terraces of the Drava River have seen yields plummet to between 700 kilograms and 2 tons per hectare. Farmers are reporting exceptionally low moisture levels in the grain, and high temperatures have significantly impacted silage quality.
