Agricultural prices rise in Vietnam due to weather and supply shifts

Prolonged rainfall in several growing regions has disrupted vegetable harvesting and transport, leading to increased prices for various products in Ho Chi Minh City. At major wholesale markets, prices for items such as bean noodles and lettuce buds have seen significant rises. While supply from Da Lat remains available for certain categories like cabbage and potatoes, heavy rain has reduced overall harvest volumes and caused quality deterioration during handling.

Retailers including GO! and MM Mega Market Vietnam are adjusting their sourcing strategies, utilizing networks in the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta to maintain supply.

In addition to vegetable fluctuations, other agricultural commodities are seeing price shifts. Cassava prices have risen sharply, with fresh cassava being purchased at 4,200–4,800 VND/kg, providing high profit potential for farmers in regions like Tay Ninh. Similarly, King orange (cam sành) prices in Vinh Long have increased compared to the previous year, offering positive signals for growers.
