Global agricultural sectors report production shifts and market expansions

Global agricultural sectors are experiencing diverse shifts in production and market dynamics. In Argentina, Formosa province has seen rice production rise from 64,780 to 105,500 tons due to private investment, such as Adecoagro’s expansion. Additionally, Argentina’s grain exports remain significant, with US$2,750 million in agricultural dollar liquidations recorded in August. The country is also preparing to host the XII World Soy Conference in Rosario in 2027.

In Spain, Primaflor has acquired Zanobeet to diversify its portfolio with products like sweet potato and beetroot. Meanwhile, in León, the early start of the corn harvest has led to a temporary suspension of corn quotations at the local exchange.

In Paraguay, the 2026/27 soy campaign has officially launched with a focus on legal security and infrastructure. In Venezuela, the livestock characterization plan has registered over 3 million cattle and buffalo heads, though local farmers warn that government-approved imports are negatively impacting domestic rice, corn, and sugar production.
