Agrigento concludes first 'On the Road' youth safety program

The first Sicilian edition of the “On the Road” educational project has concluded in Agrigento. The initiative, coordinated by the Prefecture of Agrigento, involved 21 local youths in a week-long program focused on road safety, legality, and responsible citizenship.

Participants gained hands-on experience by shadowing various emergency and security services, including the State Police, Carabinieri, Firefighters, Coast Guard, and Anas road maintenance personnel. Activities included visiting the Maddalusa viaduct, observing traffic monitoring at the Territorial Operations Room, and participating in emergency construction site simulations.

The program was established through a protocol involving the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and the “Ragazzi On the Road Aps” association. During the closing ceremony, participants received certificates from Anas staff to recognize their engagement in learning about infrastructure maintenance and public safety responsibilities.
