Agrigento officials address water cuts and building disputes
Authorities and utility providers in Agrigento are addressing issues regarding unauthorized structures within the Valle dei Templi Archaeological Park. Danila Nobile, President of Aica, announced that water supplies will be suspended for approximately thirty residential units in the via Graceffo area. This decision follows a negative opinion from the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage regarding the installation of a new water network in the protected zone.
In a related development, Giovanni Crosta, the Deputy Mayor of Agrigento, has defended himself against allegations concerning an inherited property in Zingarello. Crosta claims the property is subject to a pending regularization request from 1985 and denies any personal wrongdoing, describing the situation as a media campaign intended to damage his political reputation. He noted that the house is not used year-round and that he had previously requested the disconnection of water services in 2015.
