Pertamina strengthens energy security and bioenergy through strategic partnerships

PT Pertamina is implementing several strategic initiatives to bolster Indonesia's national energy security amidst global geopolitical dynamics. Through its sub-holding Pertamina Patra Niaga, the company is diversifying crude oil and fuel procurement and collaborating with international partners to ensure supply continuity.

To support distribution, Pertamina is optimizing an extensive infrastructure network, including 125 fuel and integrated terminals, 72 aviation fuel terminals, 40 LPG terminals, and several floating storage facilities for both fuel and LPG. The company is also intensifying monitoring of fuel distribution to mitigate shortages and manage queues at gas stations, noting that while queues in Bali and East Java have stabilized, monitoring continues in Lampung and Gorontalo.

In the renewable energy sector, PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has signed Memorandums of Understanding with PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pertamina Power Indonesia. This collaboration focuses on developing bioenergy and renewable energy derived from palm oil commodities, including the potential management of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) production facilities in Riau.
