Police in Agrinio have arrested two men following the disappearance and subsequent discovery of a 15-year-old girl. The minor had been missing since September 1, prompting a Missing Alert from the organization ‘The Smile of the Child’.

Authorities located the girl at the residence of a 31-year-old man. The girl has alleged she was the victim of a gang rape involving the 31-year-old and a 32-year-old associate. The suspects face charges of abduction and rape, though they have denied the allegations. The 31-year-old suspect claimed the girl arrived at his home voluntarily and that the encounter was consensual.

As part of the ongoing investigation, forensic and toxicological examinations have been ordered. A child psychiatrist has also been appointed to examine the minor. The two suspects have been granted an extension to appear before judicial authorities this coming Saturday to answer the charges.
