Agro-industrial exports see growth in Chile and Argentina

Agro-industrial export sectors in Chile and Argentina have reported significant growth in value during 2026.

In Chile, fruit and vegetable agro-industrial exports reached US$ 2.271 billion through August, representing a 7% increase in value compared to the previous year. While the total volume exported fell by 2% to 725,000 tons, specific sectors saw substantial value rises, including dried fruits (26%) and frozen fruits and vegetables (13%). Notable product increases included homogenized pulps (439%) and frozen raspberries (63%). Major markets for these exports include the United States (17%), Italy (16%), and Germany (9%).

In Argentina, regional economies achieved a 22-year record, with exports totaling US$ 5.757 billion from January to July. This marks a 12% increase in value over the previous year, driven by higher international prices. The total volume of shipments rose by 6.5% to 4.377 million tons. Key sectors driving this growth include fishing, legumes, and apiculture, with honey production alone reaching US$ 202.6 million during this period.
