Agrochemical network dismantled in Córdoba, Argentina

Argentine federal authorities have dismantled a network involved in the production, adulteration, and illegal sale of agrochemicals. Following an investigation by Federal Prosecutor María Schianni and a complaint from Syngenta Agro SA regarding counterfeit products, Gendarmería Nacional conducted seven simultaneous raids in Pozo del Molle, Sacanta, and surrounding rural areas of Córdoba province.

The operations targeted the offices, warehouses, and residences of the companies Agrocampo and Grupo Ceiba. Authorities also raided a field in Sacanta used as a production site, where they discovered an infrastructure for manufacturing and packaging adulterated chemicals. Seized items, including reused containers, mixing vessels, and an industrial printer for creating counterfeit labels, are estimated to be worth approximately 110 million pesos.

The investigation focuses on potential crimes including fraud, violations of trademark laws, and environmental damage. The production facility used in the scheme lacked the necessary provincial authorizations.
