Aguas del Altiplano funds social and sports projects in Tamarugal

Aguas del Altiplano has awarded resources from its 2026 Contestable Fund to seven social and sports organizations in the Pampa sector of the Tarapacá Region. The beneficiaries include sports clubs, neighborhood associations, and senior citizen groups from the communes of Pica, Pozo Almonte, and La Tirana.

The funds are designated for community development initiatives, such as improving community centers, purchasing equipment, and promoting recreational and sporting activities. This latest allocation adds seven projects to the 48 previously distributed in the Iquique and Alto Hospicio communes for the 2026 cycle.

Now in its 15th year, the initiative aims to foster self-management and local development within the Tamarugal area. Rodrigo Sandoval, head of the Pampa Unit for the water utility, led the formalization of the resource delivery alongside the company's community team.
