Aguascalientes implements large-scale pet sterilization programs

The Municipality of Aguascalientes has reported performing 2,795 free or low-cost canine and feline sterilization surgeries through three primary veterinary services: the Department of Animal Health and Welfare, the Municipal Veterinary Hospital, and the Mobile Veterinary Operating Room. These efforts aim to promote animal health and responsible pet ownership.

In a specific upcoming initiative, the Municipality and the Institute of Health Services of the State of Aguascalientes (ISSEA) will host a free sterilization session for 40 pets on August 20 at the Insurgentes Delegation. This session requires prior appointments and specific health criteria for the animals, such as being between four months and six years of age. Certain breeds, including Pugs and Shih Tzus, are excluded from the program due to respiratory considerations.
