Ahmad Zahid advises Negeri Sembilan BN reps to avoid royal crisis

Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has advised the coalition’s 18 state assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan to refrain from interfering in matters involving the royal institution and the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU).

Speaking in Kuala Lumpur, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that legal and royal issues must be kept separate from state government administration. He urged elected representatives to focus on their mandate of serving the people and addressing public welfare instead of engaging in the ongoing royal crisis.

The crisis in Negeri Sembilan began in April following announcements by four chieftains regarding the removal of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the state ruler. Recently, the Conference of Rulers warned against the politicization of the situation, stating that the crisis must not be used as a tool for political influence or power struggles.
