Ahmedabad schools evacuated following bomb threats
At least 10 schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threats on Wednesday, prompting authorities to evacuate students and send them home early. Most of the affected institutions are located in the western part of the city.
Security teams, including the police, fire department, and bomb detection and disposal squads, were deployed to various campuses to conduct thorough inspections. Specific schools identified in reports include Jidus School in the Vejalpur area, Bodakdev School for Children, SGVP School, Sant Kabir School on Drive-in Road, and Asia School.
This incident follows a pattern of similar threats in the region. In September, bomb threats via email were sent to 10 schools, three courts, and the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, though investigations later deemed them rumors. In January, at least 16 schools in the Ahmedabad district also received similar threats. Authorities are currently investigating the nature and source of the latest communications.
