Ahmedabad school and public facility bomb threats
Overview
A series of bomb threats has targeted various locations in Ahmedabad, causing significant security concerns and disruptions. On October 7, at least 10 schools, primarily in the western part of the city, were evacuated and students were sent home early following threats. Security teams, including bomb detection and disposal squads, were deployed to inspect campuses such as Jidus School and SGVP School.
By late October, the scale of the threats increased. A single day saw 19 bomb threats directed at 14 schools, two courts, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation offices, and the Narendra Modi Stadium. One specific email warned against traveling to the Motera Stadium Metro station on November 21, the date of a scheduled concert. These communications included slogans associated with separatist movements, though the authenticity of the sender has not been verified. In response to this escalation, police and dog squads have been deployed to conduct widespread security checks.
