AHMSA and MINOSA auction sees six qualified bidders
The Second District Court in Bankruptcy Matters has confirmed six qualified bidders for the upcoming joint auction of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) and MINOSA, scheduled for September 25. The interested parties have submitted the necessary letters of conformity to proceed with the sale of the productive unit.
The identified bidders include Argentem Creek Partners, CIESA, Yepal, Lance Internacional/Grupo Metals-Mex, Trust Empresarial Mexicano, and individual bidder Octavio Pous Escalante. This diversity of participants suggests significant interest in the steel company's assets.
Jorge Mtanous Falco, president of Canacintra Monclova, noted that while the news provides hope for the Monclova region after three years of uncertainty, the sale is not yet finalized. He emphasized that the priority must be finding a buyer with the technical capacity to reactivate the furnaces and restore lost jobs to the local supply chain.
