AHMSA sale enters critical legal phase following $1.4 billion bid
The Government of Coahuila is closely monitoring the final legal stages of the sale of AHMSA. Following an auction held on September 25, the process has entered a critical phase within the bankruptcy court system.
Construcciones e Ingenierías Electromecánicas (CIESA) has submitted a bid of $1.4 billion USD. This offer is currently under review by the receivership to validate the seriousness of the guarantees. To proceed, bidders must demonstrate immediate resource availability and fulfill a required guarantee payment of $56.3 million USD.
State officials expressed optimism that the legal proceedings will provide certainty to workers in the Centro and Carbonífera regions affected by the steel mill's paralysis. The state administration noted ongoing coordination with the federal government to resolve the crisis in Monclova.
